BASECAMP LEARNING

Everything is Connected

At Silverton School, we believe in meeting students where they are and guiding them toward their academic goals with a personalized and supportive approach. Our programs are designed to create an engaging, well-rounded educational experience that helps every child succeed.

At Silverton School, we approach every aspect of education with a growth mindset, believing that every student has the potential to develop their abilities through dedication and effort. This mindset fosters resilience, encourages a love of learning, and helps students overcome challenges, ensuring they grow academically, socially, and emotionally.

We believe in personalized support, guiding every student to success.

Below are some of the key programs we use to support our students' success.

1:1 Technology Integration

Every student at Silverton School is equipped with their own laptop, ensuring seamless learning in today’s digital world. With a 1:1 computer ratio, students can easily access resources and complete assignments. Each classroom is also outfitted with a 60” Smart Screen and a document camera, keeping students engaged with multimedia content and interactive lessons.

High Impact Tutoring

Our High-Impact Tutoring program is an integral part of the school day for all students. This hour-long skills block focuses on literacy, mathematics, and essential learning habits, with students working in small groups of 2-4. This specialized support, facilitated by teachers, ensures that each student receives the targeted assistance they need to grow and achieve.

Mind Body Crew

Every day, students participate in a "centering" session, a 15-30 minute period dedicated to reflecting on their social, emotional, and physical well-being. This practice helps students take a moment to breathe, recenter, and refocus, positively impacting their afternoon learning and overall school experience.

Hands-On Learning Approach

We believe in making learning meaningful by connecting it to real-world experiences. Our interdisciplinary and hands-on learning approach allows students to see the relevance of their studies. For instance, math class might involve budgeting for an upcoming field trip, which ties into a humanities and social studies expedition on immigration. Our teachers creatively integrate subjects to provide a cohesive and connected learning journey.
