CREW

We are CREW

At Silverton Public School, we embrace the concept of "CREW" to foster a culture of teamwork, character development, and belonging. CREW is more than just a group; it's the heart of our learning community, where students and staff collaborate to become effective learners and ethical individuals who contribute to a better world. The spirit of CREW extends beyond the classroom, strengthening relationships with families and the broader community.

In our EL Education model, CREW is a daily practice. Students and staff come together in morning meetings to build meaningful connections, reflect on academic progress, and focus on character growth. This structure ensures that every student feels valued, included, and supported. Leaders and teachers create opportunities for students to learn from their experiences, encouraging healthy risk-taking, collaboration, and leadership. By debriefing regularly, students are inspired to achieve more than they ever thought possible, reinforcing the CREW culture that drives our school.

CREW is both a structure and a culture.

CREW as a Culture

At Silverton Public School, CREW plays a vital role in creating a safe and nurturing environment where every student can flourish. Especially in challenging times, such as the aftermath of a global pandemic, having a space where students feel valued and supported is crucial. CREW cultivates a sense of belonging by building a community where students not only pursue academic success but also grow socially and emotionally. By working together toward common goals, students learn the importance of empathy, respect, and shared responsibility, laying the foundation for them to become active and engaged citizens.

We invite you learn more on the purposes of CREW from the Expeditionary Learning website.
