21st Century Community Learning Center Grant
Paul Joyce has been hired to oversee the STREAM program, made possible through 21st Century Community Learning Center funding. Over the next five years, the 21st Century funds will provide over $500,000 to support student academic support services and create new learning and enrichment opportunities for students and their families. This project represents an effort to increase the academic performance and growth of its students, while simultaneously creating an engaging and appealing after-school enrichment program that supports learning, encourages character development, and contributes to drug prevention efforts.
Academic support activities will focus on reading, writing and math support in the form of tutoring and summer learning labs. Enrichment activities will include a partnership with the Silverton Summer Youth Program and MSI to expand offerings and open gym nights for students and families with physical activities such as volleyball, soccer, climbing, badminton, and basketball. In addition, mini-courses will be offered in 6-8 week slots to provide instruction in the arts, music, and other areas of interest. These courses will be taught by local experts and sponsors.

Silverton School District Annual Report
Each year, school districts that receive federal funding are required to provide Annual Reports to the Public after the culmination of each school year. In the past, the Silverton School has mailed the Annual Report to every boxholder in Silverton; however, this information is now available online through the Colorado Department of Education. The SchoolView Data Center provides important information collected by state regarding the performance of each District as well as whether each District meets requirements of the Federal No Child Left Behind Act. Follow this link to the SchoolView Data Center and click on the Silverton District on the right side of the page. From here you will be able to view data regading Accountability (levels of attainment in 4 performance indicators), Performance (CSAP assessment proficiency scores), Students (enrollment information), and Staff (teacher qualification information). The State will migrate even more information into this site in the future, including financial data. Feel free to contact Kim White at the school with questions or concerns regarding this data.
